Wrexham super prison is planned to be built by 2017 and will hold over 2000 prisoners. "It will be a training and resettlement prison where the focus will be on the education, training and resettlement of offenders" (WREXHAM, 2015).The design of Wrexham is planed to take on the Victorian radial design further highlighting the efficiency of this layout in maintaining control over the inmates.

 

“Statistics point to better performances in smaller prisons - with under 400 prisoners” (BBC, 2013). This raises the question that Wrexham prison  may be too large in scale to help the prisoner’s reform successfully.
